Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To establish appraisal office
  2. To appoint the Chief Appraiser and a Taxpayer Liaison Officer
  3. To select a Chairman and Secretary from among the Appraisal Review Board members
  4. To adopt the annual budget
  5. To contract for an annual audit and private appraisal service firms
  6. To designate a depository
  7. To appoint an Agricultural Advisory Board
  8. To ensure that the District follows policies and procedures and appropriate state laws and regulations
**The Board of Directors does NOT appraise property, hear protests, or make decisions affecting appraisal records**
