This process is for "Real Property" only. This option is available prior to deadline posted on your current appraisal notice.
Option 1 From the home page click on Online Protest then select "Online Protest Filing"
Option 2 From property search, access your account and click on the "Protest Online" button
1. To Login as an Existing User
A property owner who has created an online user login in a prior year can use the same login. Once in the login screen you must register your Online Passcode from the current Appraisal Notice. Click on the drop down arrow key and click on “Register Passcode”. This will allow you to proceed with the current protest. If you have multiple properties, each property will have to be protested individually. You will receive email from firstname.lastname@example.org during the online protest process.
Step 1 Click on the drop down arrow and select "Register Passcode"
Step 2 Enter your Quick Ref ID and Passcode (Quick Ref ID & Online Passcode can be found on your Appraisal Notice)
Step 3 Once the passcode is registered click to continue
Step 4 Click here to file protest
2. To Create a New User Login:
A property owner who does not have an online account setup must create a user-login by clicking on the “Create User Button”. Property owners should keep login information, the appraisal district does not capture any username information.
3. Online Hearing Scheduler
When open slots appear on the calendar you may select a date and time for your hearing beginning May 1st through mid-July. If no slots are available on the calendar for you to schedule your hearing one will be scheduled for you. You will receive a letter by mail indicating a scheduled hearing date and time.
If you have protested your appraised value, you have the option of scheduling your protest hearing date at WCAD’s Public Access portal. Only “Residential property” accounts can be scheduled online.

Step 3 Click arrows to select month. Only dates highlighted in blue are available
Note: Non-residential property accounts such as “Business Personal Property, Commercial, Land, & AG property” will not have the option to schedule a hearing online.
