Business Personal Property Taxes?

Per Texas Property Tax Code Section 11.01; Texas requires a business owner to pay property taxes to each taxing unit based on the market value of the inventory and assets, as of January 1, that is owned or used in the production of income.   All real and tangible personal property that this state has jurisdiction to tax is taxable unless exempt by law.

You must also file  a rendition to provide the Appraisal District with taxable business property information. The form must be filed by April 15th each year.

Included in the form is the business name and location, description of assets, cost and acquisition dates and opinion of value for business personal property. The Appraisal District uses the information to help estimate the market value of your business property for annual property tax purposes.

The Rendition form will be available to complete between January 1 - April 15th of every year: Online Rendition Form.

If you no longer own a business in Williamson County, please fill out and submit the electronic BPP Update Form to send to our BPP department: Sold, Moved, Closed, or Name/Mailing Address Update.
