I just put my home in a trust, what do I do now?

If you have recently had a change in the titling of your home; ex: living trust, Transfer on Deed, Life Estate, or RefinancedAn updated warranty deed is then filed and recorded with the county clerk before ownership takes place with WCAD.

Change in ownership may require you to reapply for your exemptions. We encourage property owners to verify if the exemptions have been removed April of the following year when Notice of Appraise Values are sent out via mail or online on our website.

Visit our website at WCAD.org click on property search to locate your property.

Once you locate your property on the website at the very top of the pageVerify the ownership has been updated, and the exemptions are still in place.
